Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Accident Results in Two Injuries
Earlier this month, a motorcycle accident in Davenport, Iowa injured two people. According to a local news report, the accident occurred in the evening hours when a Dodge Charger failed to yield at a stop sign. The Charger cut in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.
The driver of the Dodge Charger fled the scene after the accident. Eyewitnesses to the accident were able to provide authorities with a description of the vehicle as well as its direction of travel. A few hours later, the vehicle was located. Authorities have not yet announced whether the identity of the driver has been determined or whether any charges have been filed.
The motorcyclist had a passenger on the back of the bike at the time of the accident, and both were thrown from the bike. It is unclear whether either was wearing a helmet. Emergency personnel arrived on the scene shortly after the accident, and the accident victims were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Once at the hospital, one of the accident victims needed additional medical treatment and was airlifted to another hospital.
